Expressions of Humanity : A Migrant’s Journey

Time For Equality organizes the first event of the Expressions of Humanity cycle in collaboration with the Rotondes. "A migrant's journey" gives continuity to the previous initiatives, carried out in partnership with Walking in the Streets' Essence (#WISE), on the theme of the humanitarian crisis and the situation of people in exile, particularly in the northern part of the France.

In the program:

  • Presentations by Damien Carême (mayor of Grande-Synthe), Paul Delaunois (DG of Médecins Sans Frontières - Luxembourg), Aleksandra Melesko (former referendum at the General Court of the European Union), followed by a question and answer session.

  • Poetic performance: Passaport recited by the writer and poet Antoine Cassar.

  • Concert «Chansons d’auteur des ports d’Italie – Histoires de mer et de continent» by the musicians Massimo Donno (guitar and voice) and Alessandro D'Alessandro (accordion)

The project pays tribute to the stories of those who see in the sea the hope of a new road, a new life. The goal is to tell, through music, the port as a gateway and transit for men, women, culture and poetry.

During the evening, it will be possible to sign the European Citizens Initiative We are a welcoming Europe and 50% of the income from the entries will be donated to the association #WISE for its humanitarian aid that will directly benefit refugees and families in the surroundings of Grande-Synthe and Dunkirk.
