What about hiring a refugee?
ADEM Agence Esch-sur-Alzette
1, Boulevard Porte de France
ADEM is going to organise a lunchtime round table on the topic of hiring or training refugees. Speakers will include Mr N. Schmit (Minister of Labour, Employment, Social Economy, and Economic Solidarity), ADEM representatives, representatives from NGOs focusing on the integration of refugees into the Luxembourg job market, as well as refugees and their employers. The round table will be followed by a lunch buffet, allowing for and fostering informal exchange between all parties involved.
Background information: By the beginning of March 2017, around 425 beneficiaries of international protection (BIPs) had registered with ADEM. Several hundreds more are expected to register in 2017. Given the importance of employment as a factor of smooth integration into Luxembourg’s society, ADEM and other parties work hard to get as many BIPs onto the job market as quickly as possible. One major hurdle in this is to know to what extent their skills and qualifications correspond to the standards of the Luxembourg job market. Several FEDIL members as well as individual companies such as the Royal Bank of Canada support ADEM’s efforts by evaluating BIPs’ relevant skills and knowledge. Furthermore, ADEM cooperates with several NGOs (such as ASTI or Caritas) in order to coordinate actions and initiatives so as to obtain the best results possible, as fast as possible.
