Luxembourg City Film Festival

The 11th edition of the Luxembourg City Film Festival will take place from 4 to March 14 2021. This year, the health crisis has encouraged the organisers to rethink their programme and propose a new hybrid organisation: a live offer in cinemas and an online digital offer available in Luxembourg.

At the heart of this catalogue, the official competitions and certain documentaries will be closer to specific current issues and sensitivities, such asmigration.

For example, the film The Land of Gevar (Ard Gevar) by Qutaiba Barhamji retrace the life of a Syrian refugee who settles in Reims (France) and decides to cultivate a vegetable garden. Like him, his plants will try to take root in their new environment.

Besides, The Wolves (Los Lobos) by Samuel Kishi Leopo intends to report on the life of a Mexican family composed of two boys and their mother, Lucia emigrating to the United States. While improving their English, the children build an imaginary world and explore the world around them.
