May the 26th, 2020 should have marked the launch of the 6th edition of Diversity Day Lëtzebuerg, a flagship event carried by the Diversity Charter Lëtzebuerg to celebrate diversity andinclusion in the Grand Duchy, as well as to welcome new signatories. But due to the current crisis linked to the COVID-19 epidemic, all actions had to be postponed until October 6th, 2020.
Nevertheless, Ms. Corinne Cahen, Minister for Family, integration and the Greater Region and Patron of the Diversity Charter wanted to send a strong message to the attention of all private and public actors, whether or not they are signatories of the Diversity Charter: Diversity Day is postponed, of course, but this does not prevent us from celebrating and experiencing diversity on a daily basis in organisations and in all its forms.
The Minister points out that today almost 50% of workers in Luxembourg are not of Luxembourgish nationality. This diversity within the population and therefore the wage bill is a wealth, a strength that serves both productivity and mutual aid in times of crisis, as we have seen during this pandemic.
We invite all of you, signatories or not of the Diversity Charter, to participate in the next Diversity Day which will take place on October 6th by submitting your actions until August 28th. Don't wait!
