True to its mission as a pioneer of social innovation, the association Les entreprises pour la Cité, the driving force behind the French Diversity Charter, is launching a major international survey on physical appearance.
Why is it urgent to talk about this? Because deviating from ‘dominant norms’ can still lead to unconscious bias, microaggressions, or evendiscrimination that holds talent back. Body shape, skin colour, hair type, height, dress style… these are all aspects that can shape our daily professional interactions. Yet the subject of physical appearance is all too often the neglected stepchild of Diversity &inclusion policies!
