On 8 October, the Office forgender equality and Espace Cultures will be welcoming Tamiko Thiel, an MIT engineer who is revolutionising art through technology and imagination. Tamiko Thiel's career began with studies in product design at Stanford University in 1979, followed by studies in mechanical engineering at MIT in 1983. She then joined the Thinking Machines Corporation, founded by Danny Hillis, where she led the product design team responsible for creating the first commercial artificial intelligence supercomputers, the Connection Machine CM-1 and CM-2. Ms Thiel went on to study fine art at the Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Munich and is a renowned digital artist.
Her work Waldwandel/Forest Flux will be on show at Belval in the autumn. Prior to the lecture, you can take a guided tour in the company of the artist and the curator.

18:30 - Public lecture and Q&A followed by networking
The conference will be followed by a networking cocktail. Although the event is open to all, please note that registration is compulsory due to the limited number of places.
