The HR department has reached out to the ASTI asbl organization in order to volunteer for different events organized for the refugees living in the Batiment T and Tony Rollmann refugee facilities.
Therefore, one of the activity organized is called Language Café.
Contexte
The refugees come from extremely difficult backgrounds and offering them the opportunity to speak about their life experiences with people living in Luxembourg without being judged brings them a bit of comfort.
Objectifs
The objective of the volunteer in the Language Café is to animate a table of 3-4 refugees to give them the opportunity to practice a language (FR/ENG/LUX/GER).
Approche
The necessary information received from ASTI has been shared internally with our colleagues. So far, several colleagues have participated to 2 sessions on 19 June and 17 July. Two more sessions will be organized on 21 August and 18 September.
Impact
Through this experience, we can bring a bit of comfort to the refugees by listening to their life stories and in the same time to practice a language.
